For those of you who have been visiting my blog regularly, you probably have noticed that I have not posted in over a month. This was by no means an accident – I have been conducting a bit of an experiment. Let me explain!
When I first started posting to my blog, I used to add a new post every other day and sometimes every 3 days. I think the longest stretch was 4 days one time. With all those posts, I had a lot to share with you and I really appreciated many of your comments. After quite a few posts in August and through mid-September, I began to notice something. It seemed that the number of comments each post was receiving seemed to be capped at roughly the same number. What I decided to do was leave a longer period of time between posts. But what would be a reasonable amount of time be? In fact, what was I even trying to achieve?
Then, I had an idea. I was met with a challenge of coming up with a list of 25 things about me. I figured that this would be a great test to see if more people left comments – especially if the post was left up for a longer period of time. The test was on.
What did I discover? First of all, more of you left comments to that post. Also, quite a few of the comments came several days after the post was made. This confirmed my original theory that I needed to leave more days between posts because sometimes my regular visitors don’t come by on the same schedule that I post to my blog. On the downside, it has been a few weeks since the last post – perhaps I stretched the test period too long.
Hopefully, those of you that drop by periodically will be pleased to see an updated blog post. Kindly leave your comments regarding this little experiment and let me know what you think.
Till next time!
