For those of you that don’t know, it looks like there’s a little game going on within the student body of the Dean Holland Starting with Marketing coaching program. The game involves us creating a blog post listing 25 things about us – however, it looks like you need to have someone who has previously done this to ‘tag’ you. I’m not sure how (or when) this game started.  In fact, if there is anyone that can shed some light on this, please leave your comments below. As it turns out, I have officially been tagged as one of Mike Bush’s 5 victims. Its time to find out just who is this guy?

When visiting the blogs of my fellow classmates, I noticed that there were a few variations of this ’25 Things’ list. Some just listed 25 things. Others listed 25 things that we didn’t know about that person. Some lists got a little racy, while some offered a little TMI. Since I haven’t been able locate any rules to this game, I have decided to list 25 items that are my favourite things in various categories. (Some of you may notice the occasional letter ‘u’ showing up, but that’s how we spell the word in Canada). Here goes:

A little over 1 month after I started this blog, I have finally reached what I consider to be a major milestone. After much frustration and a lot of fumbling around, I have finally got my FREE Blog Setup Guide ready for download (look to the left and you’ll see it). It finally feels like my online business is set to take off. I really am very excited and I’m not kidding when I say that I feel like dancing in the streets.

As recently as July, if you would have told me that within a month I would have my own blog set up with some free download to offer my readers, I would have wagered a great deal of money that there is no way. Thankfully, I’m not a gambling man or I would have lost – big time! Not only do I have all of this set up, but I also have gotten my very first subscriber to enter his name/email and download my gift. It feels like I have finally arrived.

I can honestly say that since I have gone through the process of setting all of this up (remember, I have ZERO experience in doing this), my confidence level has gone through the roof. I will now be able to offer my readers a wide range of freebies that I have amassed over the last several years. In fact, one of my goals was to set up a Free Download area on my blog and offer a monthly ebook for my readers. I guess the Blog Setup Guide will be the September freebie.

The floodgates have truly opened. Believe and Achieve has never been so true. I really feel like this is the start of something really great!

Officially, it has been 1 month since I started this blog and in that time frame, I feel that I have come a long way. On the other hand, I feel like my progress has come to a screeching halt. I guess there are two sides to every story.

Looking back to August 1st when I was setting up my hosting account, who would have thought that I would have a blog that is up and running, regular visitors who contribute their comments and an overall general presence online. Ask a bunch of people and this guy would be the last one to say it would happen. Look how far I’ve come.

Then again, knowing what I now know, it feels like the initial burst of knowledge that I experienced has slowed down considerably. My biggest obstacle at this point is putting some of the things together that I have learned from Dean in the Starting with Marketing coaching program. I had great plans for this past weekend to review a lot of the videos and make some progress – especially as it relates to Module 4 (List Lingo). Well, those plans fell apart as it seems that my grasp of the subject matter was not as clear as I thought it would be.

So back to the drawing board. I’m not ready to give up – I’m well past that point. I just need to buckle down and keep going through this material. I will be spending more time this coming weekend going over stuff. The next time you see me there may be some changes (for the better).

No matter what, today marks the 1 month anniversary of my blog. The journey began 30 days ago with me not knowing a single thing about websites and now I have one. Just the thought of it makes me happy. Don’t let anyone tell you that something cannot be done. I’m living proof that it can!
